VRO Moves to Texas World Speedway
FORT WORTH, TX (May 26, 2011) – Vick Racing Outfitters (VRO) proudly announces the relocation of its corporate headquarters and flagship retail outlet to Texas World Speedway in College Station, TX. VRO will move into the showroom currently occupied by the TWS PX in late-June 2011, bringing a full service auto racing outfitter to Texas’ busiest road racing venue.
“We’re excited to be a part of such a historic and popular race track” said Denise Todd, COO of Vick Racing Inc. “Racing is as strong in Texas as it is anywhere else in the US, and being at TWS puts VRO in the heart of some of the best racing in the country.”
As part of the move, VRO will be expanding its product offerings to include motorcycle racing gear. It also gives the company leverage to bring in new brands like Texas-based Simpson, complementing an already impressive lineup including OMP and OMP Sport, HANS, Cool Shirt, Longacre, GForce, ATL Fuel Cells, Panasport, and many other name brands.
The move to TWS is the first step in VRO’s multi-store expansion, with the next location scheduled to open in the Fall of 2011 in the new Pinnacle Autosports facility currently under construction at Eagles Canyon Raceway.
About Texas World Speedway: Located just South of College Station, TX, the historic Texas World Speedway is the premier Motorsports venue for racing, testing, driving schools, corporate events, and film shoots in the Southwest. Built in 1968, TWS is one of only seven Super Speedways in the USA and is the only Super Speedway in the Southwest. In addition to the two-mile "D" shaped oval with 22 degree banking turns and 8 degree banking in the front of the grandstands, TWS is a road racer’s paradise, with 1.8, 1.9 and 2.9 mile high speed road courses. TWS's oval became known as "The World's Fastest Speedway" when Mario Andretti set a world closed course speed record of 214.158 mph on October 6, 1973 while qualifying for an Indy car race.
About Vick Racing: Established in 2003, Vick Racing Incorporated built a strong following among road racing enthusiasts in the Southwestern United States. In 2010 the company spun off its racing safety gear retail operation to wholly-owned subsidiary Vick Racing Outfitters (VRO). While the parent company continues to offer management and promotion services to the auto racing industry, VRO’s marketing focus, strong internet presence (www.vro.com) and sponsorship of multiple racing series, including the fast growing ChumpCar World Series endurance racing league, fuel VRO’s growth across North America.
